Private 4WD Training Course - 1 Day

Half Day Training

8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Not sure what to do when driving off-road? Not confident how to safely get out when you are bogged? What’s the correct tyre pressures? What’s Traction Control, EBD, ESC or LSD. Then this session will be perfect for you.

This is a one-on-one practical coaching session, where a qualified, experienced trainer will talk and guide you through some of the challenges of driving on different terrain. You will have the opportunity to test your own vehicle’s ability (or use our vehicle) and get confident with your 4wd skills in a controlled environment with help available. If you don’t have your 4wd vehicle or don’t want to use your car, you can use our Ranger Wildtrak. Please book accordingly.

This is a perfect opportunity to understand the vehicle’s safety aspects and to ensure you know the “DO and DO NOT’S” before taking on that big trip (all those little lights, gizmos and gadgets on the dash?).

We will also go over the basic mechanical skills required to ensure you can repair and keep your 4WD going in remote environments. You will learn how to drive your 4WD safely to minimise damage to the vehicle and the environment.

The day will be packed with the basics of what to check before heading out? How not to get bogged and what to do if you’re bogged? But most importantly, it will cover all the steps of how to do it safely!

The best thing about this private course is it’s only for you, and there is no one to laugh at your second go. You won’t be rushed and can go multiple times, as many as you need. The course is suited for men and women from all walks of life. Our trainer is experienced, patient and polite.

Our one-on-one courses comply with recommended best practices and are delivered at a local beach not far from town. We will kick it off with a quick talk over a cuppa so you understand the basic principles of off-road driving.  The session is flexible and will focus on the skills that you want to learn most. There will be plenty of time for hands-on practise under supervision, perfect for ladies and gentleman to get out there and have a go. We will have fun while learning to do it safely.

At the end of the session, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance and the confidence that goes with completing a practical driving session.

This is a practical course presented through presentations, personal experiences and interactive tasks delivered by an experienced trainer. It will provide you with the essential know-how to drive a 4WD vehicle across different terrain and undertake basic recoveries safely.
